If you look at my last post you will notice the date was March, 25th. This is because I had every intention of posting on Rick's 30th birthday which was March 26th, obviously that didn't happen and now we have had two birthday boys.
As mentioned before Rick turned 30 this year!!! We only got to see him for about an hour total on the actual day because he was on call. Wyatt and I woke up at 5 am to make him muffins and open presents before he left to round at 5:45am.
Don't feel too bad for Rick though, because the next day we headed to DC, where we got to celebrate by going out to dinner with the Lees and Pooles. Also, I lost my mind and broke down and gave him an xbox and rockband for his birthday. It was a good trade overall, he was suppose to get a flatscreen tv for passing the USMLE last summer, but he traded that promise for his xbox.
On April 21st, Wyatt turned 3!!!! Rick was gone pretty early, but Wyatt and I made birthday muffins.
Then we skyped with Grandma and opened the presents she had sent him. Wyatt's birthday happened to be free scoop day at Ben and Jerry's so we met some friends there, then spent the afternoon at the library.
Rick traded his call so he could be home that night. When he got home we opened presents.
As I am posting these pictures of my boys getting older, I keep thinking back to how one year ago today Rick graduated from dental school. It has been a big year to say the least. We have moved across the country, become home owners, barely survived our first winter in CT, and almost survived the first year of residency among other things. I am not going to lie, this year has seemed much longer and harder than just one year. Looking at these pictures helps me remember it was really a happy year amidst all the chaos. And it helps remind me how much I really do love these two birthday boys.

Wyatt's birthday party looked like they had a great time.
Your birthday parties always look like so much fun!
Congratulations to Rick and Wyatt. I have also been thinking about all that has happened in the last year. So much has changed, and I still miss many things about our 6 years in LA, but we have good lives. It looks like you had some great birthdays.
Happy, happy birthday, boys!!! I'm glad you were able to have fun family celebrations!
We miss you guys!
Happy Birthday to the men and Congratulation to Janae for great events.
Happy Birthday guys?! I guess I can still say that if you are still posting about it months later. I was so excited to see you back blogging! You guys definitely are early risers over there!
