DC, Richmond, and Boston

We have ventured out of CT a few times in the last couple months. In April, Rick had a week off so we picked up the Lees in NYC and met the Pooles and Martins in DC for the Cherry Blossom Festival. It was the first weekend and the weather was a little less than ideal, but it was still a lot of fun.

The Washington Monument, you can make out a few kites in the background, it was the annual kite flying festival.
The Lees in front of the White House. The paddle boats. All of us under a cherry blossom tree.We stayed with some of Debi's friends in Potomac, MD and on Sunday headed to some falls, for the life of me I can't remember their name-this is why I need to blog more often. It was a beautiful day. I love that Wyatt fell asleep clinging to a stick. We made a really quick trip to the mall and the Air and Space Museum before meeting up with Callie for a great dinner, I can't believe I forgot to take a picture of that. Then we were off to spend a few days in Richmond. Ashley was an amazing host as expected. We had a picnic at the beach. We stopped by Williamsburg, we need to go back and spend some more time there. Just a note of this picture of Wyatt. We stopped at Sonic and Rick ordered a HUGE cherry limeade, which he decided to let Wyatt hold. When he went back for it a few minutes later, it was completely gone!
We had a BBQ at the Martins. Wyatt and Sam had some fun on Sam's power wheel.
We spent the next day at Maymont Park.
It was a great trip, we only wish we could have stayed longer.

In May we crashed the AAO meetings in Boston. I must admit being there really made me wonder why Rick didn't want to be an orthodontist. We drove up Friday afternoon, and Ashley was nice enough to watch Wyatt while Rick and I made out first trip to the Boston temple, I really miss the days of being 10 minutes away. That night we met up with half of the old gang from UCLA for dinner at Faneuil Hall.
Saturday morning we checked out the hotel's pool, and then walked around the convention center and saw even more UCLA alumni.
In the afternoon while the real AAO members went to meetings we went to the Boston library. Wyatt played in a fountain along the way.
Then he needed to dry off.
We met up with everyone in the tulips gardens. "One" of these dentists is not like the others.
We had another nice dinner together before heading back to CT.

Next year the meetings are in DC and I fully plan on crashing them again.

Wyatt is a funny little kid, I love the pics of you guys on the beach, but especially the ones of Wyatt drinking a cherry lime-aid the size of his body, then lying out to dry like a wet towel.

Oh my goodness, you've been busy! I'm glad you're still finding so many awesome things to do! I love the same pics as everyone else! You're lucky to have so many friends still close!

Great pics! I hadn't seen these before. Haha, I'm such a nerd posing in front of the White House. And I'm so sad I wasn't there with you all in Boston! Glad you shared these. :)
