So you may have noticed all my posts this week. I had over 500 pictures on my camera when I sinked it a few days ago so my goal has been a post a day until I am finally all caught up. Here are all the things we have been up to around town.
On Easter is was warm enough for Wyatt to have an Easter egg hunt in our backyard. I wish I had a pictures of the amazing dinner we went to at the Morgans.
Wyatt and I ventured to Community Day at the University of Hartford. It was pretty amazing. They had a petting zoo. Wyatt rode a polar bear (it was electronic). There were ambulances, firetrucks, police cars, here is Wyatt in the SWAT car. They had TONS of free stuff from goldfish to bike helmets, plus a lot of food, we left with a couple bags of S.W.A.G. Wyatt practiced fishing and had his first enjoyable experience in a bounce house.
We have been spending a lot of time outside. We have amazing neighbors and our backyards are all connected so it is a lot of fun. There is a 5 year old girl right next door that Wyatt plays with every night. When the weather is nice we eat lunch outside, then Wyatt gets a popsicle and I spray him down with the hose.
Our yard is full of wildlife. Here is Wyatt with one of the many frogs we have found.
I am not generally a fan of animals, but I am really not a fan of the fox that frequents our yard. There is a den across the street in the golf course and they frequently cross over. The picture is so fuzzy because this is my max zoom. Wyatt LOVES animals and all of our neighbors have a dog or a cat that he loves playing with, so to keep him away from the fox I told him they eat little boys. Now he gets scared of the fox at night, maybe not the best parenting choice.
With the warmer weather he have been working on the outside of the house. Rick dug a two foot deep trench around the back and side of the house, then installed a french drain and covered it with literally a ton of rocks. Since then we haven't had any water in our basement or garage:) My favorite outside project has been the shutters and flower boxes. Here is a before and after. We painted the front door red, the shutters navy blue, and Rick built me these flower boxes for Mother's Day.
On Memorial Day we had a last minute BBQ at our house. Rick was on call, but only missed the first hour or so. Can I just mention my love for Craig's List, we got a nice grill with a full tank of propane for $40! We have been grilling almost every day since we got it.

Your home looks beautiful! What a great Mother's Day gift.
It's funny what we tell our kids to keep them safe! I was babysitting a little boy and he told me that if he didn't wear his seatbelt, he would have to have a new mommy!
Wow, now I am feeling super behind on my blogging. I think the flower boxes look GREAT, and I like the stain color you picked.
