Our Spring Break Adventures

We are all back in sunny California, only we are still in two different cities. Rick is still at Loma Linda; we are getting really excited for him to come home. Wyatt and I had a blast in SLC. We had lots of fun things going on so beware this may be a fairly long.

A Girls Day Out (poor Wyatt)

On Friday we spent the morning shopping at the outlets in Park City. This is when I realized I have really adjusted to California. It looked nice outside so I of course wore my flip-flops only to realize Utah can be really cold, especially up the canyon. Fortunately I was a little more prepared for Wyatt so he did not freeze. Chris found some cute things good bargains and I of course bought something for Watt. Rick claims this is all I spend money on which is probably true. For those of you who have ever been shopping with me you know I have extreme anxiety when it comes to actually purchasing items. At first I thought it was a blessing, but I am starting to think it is a real problem and perhaps I need to seek help. Later on that day I meet Karen (my sister just younger than me) for a day at the salon. It was about time for me to get a hair cut. It had almost been a full year and I needed a major overhaul. Karen had grown her hair pretty long as well. In the end we both ended up getting the haircut we always seem to fall back on. It was fun to go together and I hope we didn’t drive Tyler crazy.

When I talked to Rick that night he had me put Wyatt on the phone and I could hear him talking about how sorry he was that the little man had to go through a day of shopping and hair, Boys!!

Happy Birthday Josh!!

On Saturday he mainly hung around the house watching conference during the day and then headed up to Lisa and Clint’s for Josh’s birthday. The Halverson clan has redone their entire main floor and it looks awesome. Someday I will have to have Lisa come and fix my house, that is if I ever leave apartment living. Josh seemed to have a good birthday. It is so fun to watch the four older kids play with their younger brother.

Food, Food, and more Food!!

If one thing can be said about the Cannon clan it is that we will never go hungry. Every conference weekend my mom makes crepes for breakfast. Rick and I even make them on our own in California. We had ours a week early since we knew we would not be together. Normally people would have one or two and call it good, but not us, we can really put them away. Brigham ate 12!!! Another tradition that seems to occur whenever all my nieces and nephews get around Suzy (my youngest sister) is that of puppet making.
Suzy, the artist of the family, spends hours making these puppets out of foam. Sometimes is seems to wear her out. Between sessions there was another Easter egg hunt. Then it was time to celebrate Karen’s birthday with of course a birthday dinner and cake. If we hadn’t eaten enough to eat we then went over to my Grandma and Grandpa Cannons for a family home evening with Grandpa’s famous strawberry ice cream.

The Zoo

On Monday we went to the zoo with both of my older sisters, Chris and Lisa, and all of their kids: Liz, Brigham, Alicia, Jacob, Isaac, and Joshua. It was fun to have all the cousins together. Wyatt didn’t seem very impressed with the animals, but seemed to like the playground quite a bit. After the zoo we got home to find Grandma and Grandpa Warner there from Idaho. It was good to see them. We pretty much saw everybody while we were in town. On Monday night Wyatt and I were able to go out to dinner with some good friends; Jennie, Karli, Callie, and Laura. It is so fun to see everyone! I need to be better at staying in contact with everyone. It is strange how when you see people after awhile you realize how much you miss being around them more often and knowing all the details of their lives.

So that was our trip. We had a nice flight home and the house was only somewhat of a disaster after Rick’s week stay on his own. Well this has been insanely long so if you made it this far give yourself a pat on the back. If you are up for more all of our trip pictures our in our photo album.
