July

July was a busy month for us. It worked out really well that Rick was on St. Francis ICU and worked mainly night shifts and then just never slept during the day so it seemed like he got to be around for a lot of the fun.

BARNES COME TO VISIT

Mike and Jen journeyed back from Seattle which was probably the source of most of our July fun. Here are some pictures recapping some of their visit, I was not the best with taking pictures.

Talcott Mountain Music Festival

Breakfast on the Deck at Lyman Orchards
Jen even consented to some raspberry and blueberry picking.
Backyard 4th of July Fireworks
Rocky Neck Beach Trip.

SWIM LESSONS

It seemed fitting that while Jen was here Wyatt started his first swim lessons. He took lessons every weekday for 4 weeks and I would say he has greatly improved from his starting point. You cannot really see him that well in the still pictures I have, but there are two videos of his new skills at the bottom of this post. It was SOOO hot for us spectators so Owen borrowed Rose's hat for a bit.

CHURCH HISTORY TRIP

Rick was randomly off one of the weekends of the Hill Cumorah Pageant so we left the same day Jen did and headed to Palmyra, NY to see the pageant and the site. We camped for the weekend. We took the scenic drive up and just barely set up our tent and made it in time to the pageant with 5 minutes before showtime, it worked out perfectly that there were still a lot of seats.
The boys LOVE to camp and probably wish we had spent more time at our campsite.
I love that Rick does all the cooking while camping.
The Hill Cumorah

E. B. Grandin Printing Press
Smith Family Farm, log home
The Sacred Grove
More time camping, the favorite pastime was throwing rocks in the creek.

Wyatt was pretty tuckered out after church.
Palmyra Temple
Rick had to pull over because he saw his exact prelude that he sold when we got married for sale. It made me a little sad for him.
Martin Harris Farm
Peter Whitmer Home
We stopped at Taughannock Falls, just outside of Ithaca, on the drive home.
It was a really fast trip, that was packed with lots of sites, but was a lot of fun. I hope that Wyatt will remember at least part of it.

BLUEBERRY PICKING

SOME JULY VIDEOS

Mike showing us his moves to Poker Face.

Wyatt showing off his swimming skills half way through his lessons.

First day of swim lessons

This month Rick also taught Wyatt a few skill any surgeon would need.

Looks like so much fun!

I had to laugh (in a good way of course) at Mike's dancing video:).

And we're so impressed with future Dr. Wyatt's skills ... we'll come get stitched up from him any day;).

I'm happy that your family got to go the Hill Camorah Pageant. It is a great thing to do while you are living back there. Wyatt is pretty good at stitching up. Keep up the good work. I can hardly wait to see you in two weeks.
