Utah, week 2

Our second week in Utah was literally packed to the very last minute, much like the first, but sooo much fun.

We could not have started off the week any better, the Pooles came down from Logan to visit on Monday.  We desperately miss having them closer on the east coast.  I think Owen might be checking Nora out, I would definitely approve of that match.
After our visit with the Pooles we jumped on trax and headed to downtown SLC.  The boys had been excited for days to see the temple.  Even though it was closed for renovations it was so nice to be close to a temple.  If you live near a temple take advantage of it, you are so lucky.  We are so excited for the temple that is coming to Hartford and hope the groundbreaking will happen soon.
We toured all the building on temple square and my dad met us after work.
Clara dipped her toes in the reflecting pool.
We then walked around City Creek.  It was pretty cool, honestly I think the coolest thing is that it is closed on Sundays.  We topped off the night with dinner at the Cheesecake Factory.
Then it was back to Trax for the ride home.  Oh, boys and their trains.

Tuesday we headed up to Kaysville to visit cousins.  Owen was happy to see Jake again,
Alicia enjoyed having another girl in the house,
and Jake let the boys take a ride in his car.
I did not take any pictures, but we then meet my sister Chris at the park where she had organized a pizza lunch.

Here is Clara hanging out with the most impressive collection of Cars at the Browns.
On the way home from Kaysville we stopped and visited my Grandma Cannon.
On Wednesday we took the kids down to Provo to check out BYU.  It may have been 10 am, but our first stop was the Creamery, ernestly chocolate...mmmmmmmmm.
We then walked all around campus convincing Wyatt he should do everything he can in school to be a good student so he can come here someday.
Wyatt took this picture of me and Rick in the exact spot where we met in the Eyring Science Center at a chemistry TA training session 11 years ago.
After our tour I am pretty sure we had Wyatt sold on the Y, well as sold as a 6 year old can be.
That night my parents watched the kids while Rick and I went to the temple.  Again soooo crazy that we could see three temples from the one we went to.

Thursday we headed up to  Park City to start our second vacation within a vacation.  There was more swimming.
On Friday we had day passes to the activities at the resort.  It was a fun day of rides on the alpine slide, alpine coaster, and these trampolines.  All the slide pictures are on Ricks ipod so I will have to add those later, but here is Wyatt strapping into the trampoline harness.
Mid back flip.
Wyatt does a double back flip at the beginning of this clip.
Rick and I bounced as well.  They even let Owen take a turn.  It was funny because he had no idea what to do so they basically lifted him up and down.
The place we stayed was great, there were six bedrooms so we were all together.  Owen took it upon himself to tuck everyone in multiple times.
On Saturday we went to Alicia soccer game, said good-bye to cousins, and headed back to SLC.  Then early Sunday morning we were heading back to Hartford.  It was a great trip that was filled to capacity.  It was so great to see everyone!

Wow! What a fun trip! I feel like I was traveling right along with you. Let's do it again sometime.
Right now though I'm looking forward to seeing the dad of the family in B.C. soon. Can hardly wait. The only thing that would make it better would be for all five of you to show up.
Really do miss you.
