September

Good thing we took a bunch of pictures this month, or I may not have remembered half of the things we did.

LABOR DAY WEEKEND IN NYC

Over Labor Day we headed to NYC and met the Lees and the Pooles. The Lees moved into their new apartment, and hopefully we were able to help them and not just be in the way. We did manage a few site seeing adventures along the way, but mostly we just hung out and enjoyed being with great friends.

We made it to the Natural History Museum.

I LOVE this picture of Debi with her baby bump. Wyatt loved the idea that there were TWO babies in there, and it is a boy and a girl, he is a little upset that isn't what he is getting from me, but I think we will leave that adventure to the Lees.
Sunday dinner on the roof top, you can't see it in this picture, but there is an amazing view of the George Washington Bridge.
The real New Yorkers on the Subway.
The Pooles on the Subway.
And us on the subway.
The Guggenheim.

UCONN
GAME

The Morgans had four tickets to the first UCONN football game and they were nice enough to invite us along. It was a sad game with UCONN losing because of a penalty that caused a touch back after they led the entire game.
BEATLES ROCKBAND

Maybe you hadn't noticed, but we play a lot of RockBand around here, it is a family event that Wyatt even enjoys. Jen is a huge Beatles fan and rented the game the weekend it came out and needed a place to play; we were more that happy to be able to play between breaks in the opening BYU game.
THE BIG E

Rick's parents were in town in September for almost two weeks and we were able to do a lot of fun things with them. The first was the BIG E, for all you west coasters this is the state fair for the 6 New England states combined (Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, Maine, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire). We saw a seal show, a circus, a parade, a Foghat concert, and ate lots of yummy treats.
Wyatt really loved going down the BIG yellow slide.
THE RESERVOIR

With the leaves starting to change we have been taking walks around the reservoir near our house. Here is Wyatt with Grandma and Grandpa Shamo on one of those walks.

PLAYING WITH ANNA

I think I have mentioned in the past how we have some of the best neighbors around. Wyatt and Anna run between our backyards almost every night. Rick taught them how to use Wyatt's dump truck to ride down the hill in our backyard. The paddle it to increase the speed. I wish I had a video.

Wyatt crashed Anna's family birthday party (she did ask him to come over and really wanted him there). This is what I saw when I picked him up, Anna surrounded by all her Aunts, Uncles, Grandparents, and cousins with Wyatt there front and center. The really do LOVE each other. My neighbor sent me this picture if you are wondering why it is such high quality.
THE TREE

We now have a tree in our front yard. Rick's mom is a master gardener, even in the Vegas climate and she picked out a tree that would do well in our front yard. The nursery we got it from had a fun train to play on. I supervised while everyone planted the tree then surrounded it with tulip and crocus bulbs.
APPLE PICKING

We went apple picking at Lyman Orchards. We started off the day with a breakfast on the deck. I had pumpkin and sweet potato pancakes, mmmmmmm. Then we picked apples and raspberries.
On the way home we took Rick's parents to see the one lake Rick has found in CT that allows you to wakeboard, now all we need to find is someone with a boat.
There is a playground on the beach there and I LOVE this picture of Wyatt.

THE NEW ENGLAND AIR MUSEUM

I have been meaning to go to this museum for awhile because our library has a free pass, but it is in Windsor Locks right next to the airport so I can never get motivated to drive up there, but Rick's parents had a late flight so we were able to stop with them on the way to the airport. This place is really neat and I highly recommend it, we didn't have enough time to look at everything and will definitely need to go back.
GENERAL UPDATE ON US

We are doing really well. Rick is done with his intern year in Oral Surgery and is now in medical school for the next two years, he will graduate in 2011 with an MD then finish his last three year of his surgery residency. We LOVE medical school!! I don't think I have ever seen Rick this stress free in our married life. He comes home for lunch everyday and is home at 5pm. Wyatt is doing well and we just cannot believe how big he is getting. He is starting a preschool at the high school in November and is really excited about it. I am doing well too. This baby is apparently huge, my last ultrasound said he was already 6 lbs with 6 more weeks to go. My doctors have already scheduled an induction one week early on Nov. 12th, so only one more month, we are so excited!! I have been working on a few projects around the house that I will need to do a separate post on, and Rick has started the process of finishing half of our basement.

Yeah for updates! I have been wondering what the Shamos have been up to! I think it is fantastic that Wyatt has a BFF that he gets to share a backyard with! And leave it to Rick to teach them to use the Tonka truck to go down the hill! Love it. Wish I could have made it to New York...looks like you had a ball!

You look so cute in all of the pictures. That's so great that you just have one more month to go. I'm so glad Rick gets a break in med school for a couple of years.
