60 YEARS!!!!

Last weekend my Grandma and Grandpa Cannon celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary!!!! They had been planning the big party/reunion for about a year and we were so lucky to be able to go. We were not planning on going until just a couple weeks ago because Rick had school and we didn’t know if we could fly up just for a couple of days. We are so grateful that my dad helped everything to work out or we would have missed this great event. Rick was even able to take off school at the last minute and come with us.

We arrived at Solitude resort late Thursday night, or I should say early Friday morning and Rick was able to go water skiing/wakeboarding with my Uncle Kent’s family. He was pretty beat when he got home because they kept making him take runs to show everybody his tricks. There were a bunch of crafts for the kids and Wyatt got a pretty sweet hat out of the activities (thanks Chris). We pretty much spent our afternoons in the pool everyday. Wyatt loved the fountains and the slide was a favorite for everybody. On Friday we all got to be part of a program celebrating my grandparents life and family. We sand the George I Cannon band, the kazoos were a big hit, all of my nieces and nephews loved to practice. And of course there were always Settlers games every night!Saturday we played baseball, rode up the ski lifts, hiked (I don’t know if I could truly call it a hike, Wyatt made it just fine) to Solitude Lake, and played games with the 60 or so of use that were there. It was so nice to be around all of our family. On Saturday everyone in my immediate family was there for a while and it was nice to see everyone all at once.

If any of you have meet my grandparent you know that they are amazing people who would do anything they possibly could to help you. They are so active (I cannot believe they are 87), positive, generous, and loving. While we were there my grandpa told us that he was planning the party for their 70th being in Hawaii. We love you Grandma and Grandpa and we will see in Hawaii in 10 years.

What an event to remember! Your grandparents are a great example! I love Wyatt's hat. How did you do in Settlers? I hope you creamed them all! ;)

I love the picture of Wyatt in his red shirt. The trip looks as fun as you said it was.
