Dentists and Disneyland

This week Rick’s parents came down to visit the UCLA Dental Clinic. Rick’s dad has a lot of sick days he will lose when he retires and visiting the dentist can be used towards those days so they headed down for a consult, and trip to Disneyland. Thursday morning they were up early and off to UCLA. About ten minutes after they left I got a call from Rick, of course I thought, oh great Rick has forgotten something again, in the last two weeks I have had to take the following things to Rick on campus; laptop, cell phone, ASDA White Strips, financial aid papers, and his shoes (who forgets their shoes?!). Rick was laughing so hard when I answered, another similar looking car pulled up behind Rick and an Asian woman got pretty freaked out when Rick’s mom tried to open her passenger door and climb in, after a minute or two they figured it out and were on their way to the clinic.I went and saw Rick as a patient at the clinic a couple weeks ago and was so sad I didn’t take any pictures. I thought these were pretty awesome because Rick didn’t realize his dad was taking some of these so you get to see the real Dr. Rick. It looks like Rick will be able to meet a lot of requirements and they will be able to take more trips SoCal.

On Friday, Rick had to go to school, but I was able to go to Disneyland with the Shamos. We were lucky enough to be there when they were having a preview day for the Finding Nemo Submarine Ride (it officially opens next week). It was pretty neat, I don’t know how they did some of the animation they had underwater. Wyatt really seemed to like it, there were parts that seemed a little scary for kids, but he handled them really well. Disneyland was pretty busy, but California Adventure was not crowed at all, we were able to walk right on the Tower of Terror. This is photo of Wyatt at Playhouse Disney; I think this is his favorite part of both parks.

I also wanted to give a shout out to the other visitor we had this week. My brother-in-law Clint was able to drop by and see our place for the first time. He was in town on business and came out from Anaheim. It was fun to chat with him, and once again Clint I am sorry that my AC meeting went so long. Thanks for driving out to see us!

I heard the Finding Nemo ride starts on Monday, you little lucky ducks got in early! Did you have to wait in a very big line?

Wyatt is such a handsome little man. He seems to just take everything in. Thank you for the blog, it helps me to see all the fun things you do. Rick, you look like an official dentist. (Just minus the degree.) Great job.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has to take forgotten items up to UCLA. Maybe I'll stop giving Marc such a hard time about it. Then again, maybe not.

Those are very impressive pictures of Dr. Rick! It's so exciting to see him in action!
I can't wait to see the Nemo ride! Lucas has been interested in Nemo lately, so he'll probably love it.
I agree-Wyatt is very handsome! He's getting so big!

I wondered why we werent hanging out. J.T. thought Rick was in finals or something. I am so jeslous you got to go on Nemo, it was way to crowded for us. Rick looks like the real deal, he must have loved having his parents down.

I think I'm supposed to reply on my blog, but I'm doing it here anyway...I have to agree with both you and Rick! I definitely think you should get Wyatt floaties, but it may take a little bit for him to use them. We went swimming with our friend, Ella, yesterday, and she wore floaties. She's only 2 weeks older than Wyatt! Obviously, she couldn't swim, but she could float around when she also had on a little floatie ring! Try it!!! :)
