The Day after school got out we headed to Lake Placid for the weekend. It was amazing!!! The house was great, the company was fantastic, and the scenery was awesome! The only thing that would have made it better would have been if Rick had been able to come. Everyone was so great and really helped me with my kids offering to take them swimming and on boat rides, I really do love our CT family.
I was lucky enough to have company each way so the drive didn't seem that long. Can you spot 4 kids in the picture below?
Wyatt had been dreaming of using his new fishing pole at Lake Placid for months, and he was in heaven fishing there. For half of the first day I just made him practice casting with no hook, Owen loved this just as much as Wyatt
Owen, of course, spent his trip with a car in each hand driving them on any and all surfaces.
After practicing, and finding the worms that would be used for bait, Wyatt caught his first fish literally within 10 second of casting his line the first time and that is how the rest of the trip went. Anytime a worm was found a fish would bite within a matter of moments.
Here is Wyatt with his first fish.
..and second...
..and third...
...and fourth....
...you get the idea. I lost track of how many he caught. I am so grateful to good friends who would help Wyatt get the fish off the hook, honestly I just could not bring myself to touch the fish.
The rest of the time Wyatt was running between the lake and the hot tub, he was in heaven and would have been fine to never leave the house.
Owen just kept on driving.
He did take a little time to relax in the hammock.
We tried to go see ski jumping, but there was lightning right when we got there so we walked Main Street instead.
We got some great ice cream and you cannot tell in this picture, but Owen was such a mess. I realize this may have been his first ice cream cone and he proceded to eat the bottom out of the cone first.
Feeding ducks.
Smores by the campfire.
It was such a nice start to our summer break. Hopefully we will get to go back someday soon.
*Clara was there too, but I am surprisingly lacking pictures of her.
