The 4th of July seemed to sneak up on us this year, I think it must be the late school year. CT celebrates all month long, we saw some fireworks at the end of June and plan on going to more tomorrow night. So here are our 4th of July celebrations and all the other random photos from my camera from in between.
The kids and I went to the Talcott Mountain 4th of July concert and fireworks with our neighbor and her kids. I love this tradition. It was sad to realize it was our first year without the Barnes. Owen was so funny, he tried another ice cream cone this time with much more success. Owen really loved the fireworks and still talks about them. Doesn't he look so big below?
We have been loving hot summer days just hanging out in the backyard. I had to capture this exact moment when we were outside together. There have been three distinct moments with my children when I just want to hit the pause button and not forget the peace and happiness of the specific moment in our family. Once with Wyatt when I was in his nursery at UCLA singing him primary songs, then here in CT when Owen was maybe one month old he was napping on me in our living room while Wyatt played with trains nearby. I just didn't want anything to change, everything was perfect. Maybe this specific moment was my moment with Clara as a baby, she was smiling and laughing with me while her brothers where so happy playing in the water together. We truly have a blessed life.
Really summer doesn't get much better than this.
A couple weeks ago I took the boys to get backpacks for their airplane ride to Utah. The store clerk let them wear them out of the store and they literally did not take them off the rest of the day.
On the 4th of July we got to see some friends from RI.
Clara was so tuckered out she fell asleep on my lap,
but she was up and ready to go later that afternoon.
Rick had to work the entire day, that just seems to be how the last couple months of general surgery have gone. We ended the day with a concert at Elizabeth Park and some pretty impressive fireworks by our neighbors.
Clara is now officially 9 months old (as of July 18th)
17 lb 6 oz (30th percentile)
23.5 in (50th percentile)
She can sit up on her own from lying down now and can get anywhere she wants to be on the floor by scooting. There has been lots of rocking back and forth, but no official crawling yet that we have observed. She refuses any food that is not pureed baby food and still has no teeth. She is still the sweetest thing and we love her to pieces.
The boys went to "Camp Lots of Fun" and "Camp Awesome."

I just love to look at all the pictures and fun things you have done so far this summer. We can hardly wait for Monday the 23rd. We look forward so much to having you here with us. We are counting the days, or should I say hours.

Your babies are getting so big Janae! It's so fun to see them though- I'm glad you are still taking pictures and posting them.
