WYATT'S MUSEUM NIGHT
Wyatt has been working on an art unit in his kindergarten class and last week we got to go see all his projects. They had been on a museum field trip in conjunction with the unit and learned about lots of artists. Wyatt was our docent. Their was a list of questions to ask him and I was so impressed with what he knew, including things like the towns the artists were from. The display was really impressive, it made me sad to think Owen and Clara will not get to go to kindergarten here. So I scanned in Wyatt's masterpieces with their inspirations to share with you.
We actually went into Wyatt's class and were the mother and child models for this picture. Can you make out me and Clara? Owen is the red blob in the back.
My favorite, I think I am going to frame it.

They drew these under their desks lying on their backs like Michelangelo.

This one is suppose to be titled "Boat in the Night."

Wyatt only got to bring his body home from the class collage, but he created a hospital for their city since that is where his dad works.
CLARA IS 6 MONTHS
On Sunday, a few days shy of 6 months, we gave Clara her first taste of solid food, rice cereal. She was not a fan initially, but it has grown on her over the last few days.

Another first this week was my first real attempt to do something with her crazy hair. Here are her first pig tails. They fell out after an hour and she was so wiggly getting them in I must say I don't think they will be a common thing for awhile.
Our sweet neighbor bought matching outfits for our girls and it was warm enough for them to wear them this week. We are going to miss them when they move to the UAE next month.
Today Clara is 6 months old. She even had her check up where she was declared perfect by her pediatrician. She is in the 50th percentile for everything, 16 lbs 4 oz and 25.75 in. Here are some pictures of Clara on her 1/2 year birthday.

OWEN SINGING
Seriously I could watch this over and over, and sometimes when the terrible twos keep getting at me I think I will have to. Owen LOVES these songs, hang in there for "Popcorn Popping" it is my favorite.

LOVE all the art from Wyatt! he is so talented. I'm so impressed with him and his teacher for doing such a great unit. So cool!
And could Clara and Owen get any cuter? I don't think so! Clara looks like you (in my opinion) what do you hear more of, that she looks like you or Rick? She is darling! What a blessed life!
Wyatt, what great talent you have. You are a little artist. Keep it up.
Clara is growing so fast. I loved the pig tales. She does look a lot like you, Janae. Owen, I loved your singing, keep learning the songs so that you can sing them for me when you come.
holy cow! Wyatt's pictures are so good! I love the Monets' and the Van Gogh. Can't believe he is learning that stuff in Kindergarden. I'm pretty sure I was learning farm animals or something.
I love love love Clara. I just want to kiss her cute little cheeks!
Also, the Owen video is hilarious!! I love how Wyatt chimes in too asking if he could perform. In a video of Mike's sister when she was little Mike is in the background saying "Put the camera on me dad...M I C H A E L!"
Your kids are growing so much I can't believe it. I loved all of Wyatt's pictures but am with you, and would totally get the bridge one framed, it really is so good.
I think Clara (and Owen) look like your mother, Janae, although I can't really remember what Rick's mom looked like.
Such fun times!
Sorry ... I still haven't changed my 'unknown' status to the Bailey Family:).
love the update on all the kids. they are doing amazing things.
hello! Wyatt is so talented! i think its a good idea to frame that one piece. he did so good on all of them! clara is a doll! i loved the pig tails. we buzzed Marni's head like a month ago. and owen is getting so BIG! i loved the video!!
xo
What a wonderful art unit! Such a thoughtful way to teach them so many things. Your kids are beautiful Janae. Hope you are doing well!
Great updates!! I was watching the video and Lucy said, hey! I know those boys! Glad she remembers her Connecticut Cousins. I can't wait for Alice and Clara to meet--they will be buddies! Alice had her 6 month check up today. She has a huge head, but is only 18th percentile for weight. She is like a caricature! I have to say that I think Wyatt hit the jackpot with his teacher--what an awesome way to teach art. And he is quite the little artist! Miss you guys!
Very nice picture and a great song.
