The latest activity in our backyard

So I am pretty sure that Rick is the luckiest dad, and Wyatt is one of the luckiest sons (I guess it is a toss up with Owen) because they have a lot of fun together. They have been working on tapping the maple trees in our backyard for the last couple days. Rick is pretty set on reproducing some maple syrup milk that he had last year. Here is a demonstration if you are thinking of tapping your own trees.

It takes a lot of sap to make maple syrup the ratio is about 40 parts sap to 1 part syrup. They took about one cup of the sap they have collected and only made about a tablespoon of syrup today. Anyway in a week or so we should have quite the harvest of maple syrup. Pancakes anyone?

Now here are a few random pictures from the past few weeks. Owen is a little obsessed with the DVD player in our car, sometimes he will point at it and scream, when I meet his demands he is all chunky smiles. Oh, how I love that double chin!
I came home after a meeting and found the boys like this, all tuckered out.

Owen has become obsessed with books lately, he will grab one and walk up to anyone and scream until you let him sit on your lap and read to him. Here is one where Wyatt got a turn.
This is the second time I have mentioned Owen screaming at people in this post. Owen is not a quiet baby, when he wants your attention he has the lung power to let you know it.

Rick took some pics on his ipod of these handsome boys. They really kill me with their cuteness while they are in their ties.

And last but not least, here is Wyatt today. We just found out that we get to go to Disney World again next month (I know we are really beyond lucky) and Wyatt has been pretty excited. He spent this afternoon trying on all of his warmer weather clothes to see if they still fit. We are pretty excited!!
