Farewell Winter

I am hoping that if I formally bid winter farewell it will actually leave. The winters in CT seem to be getting longer each year, I am ready for this one to be over, we miss you vitamin D. I am doing my part and heading to sunny Florida and the happiest place on earth on Tuesday. So here are, hopefully, our last winter activities.

It has warmed up a little and we actually can see a large amount of grass in our yard, but the sledding runs are still there. They have slowed down a bit so Owen can ride them once again.

Last weekend we meet up with the Thomases and went to the Winter Ice carving festival at Lyman Orchards, where there were plenty of warm apple cider donuts to be had by all. Here is Wyatt checking out the huskies.
The boys waiting for our sleigh ride.
We got to ride on an actual horse drawn sleigh across a snowy field, I of course have no good pictures of this. The horses were complete with jingle bells, the only slight downer was that there were two horses instead of one, so we were not completely true to the song (I guess we were not on our way to Grandma's house either if we are getting technical).
Wyatt with the ice sculpture he insisted was being turned into a dragon. I guess I can see where he got a dragon, but it was definitely a horse, Wyatt could not be persuaded.
Rick has left the glorious world of anesthesia and is back in the thick of things at work so he couldn't come with us, but it was a fun outing and a great way to say goodbye to winter. Now we are really done, bring on spring.

It gives me hope that warm weather is around the corner, last year for St. Patrick's Day it was so warm we actually celebrated outside.
