First, we are ready for fall. This is what our flower boxes look like right now, and it makes me pretty happy.
With fall we are ready for Halloween. Skeleton shirts: check.
Now onto the real firsts. Owen had his first haircut. Not the best picture, but the mullet that once was is now gone. After shots below.
Wyatt had two first days of preschool. Here he is off for his first day of the preschool a few other moms and I are teaching twice a week.
This week he went back to Conard High School's preschool twice a week. It may not show below, but he actually was excited. It is weird to have him gone so much, it is kind of nice to miss him, is that a terrible thing to say? It makes me appreciate him more and have more patience when he is around. I am trying to ease into the big change that will come next year with full day kindergarten. Wyatt will be fine, but I am already starting to freak out that this is the last year I will have to be the one he is around most of the day before he is in school all day for the next 13+ years.
When Wyatt is away I feel extra blessed to have this little guy around to keep me company. And it doesn't hurt that he is so cute.

Another huge First that I am so thrilled about was the announcement this past weekend at General Conference that the first temple in Connecticut is coming to the Hartford area. I was so shocked/excited/happy I still cannot think about it without getting emotional. Hartford is the first place I have lived where I have been more than 15 minutes away from the nearest temple, I know I have been spoiled. I have been really glad for this experience, it helps me appreciate the blessing that the temple is more than I have in the past, when it was so easy to take for granted. We are lucky that the Boston Temple is only a little under two hours away from us right now, but that seems a lot longer when that turns into needing a babysitter for 6+ hours to make a temple trip. I know temples take a long time to build, and it is a possibility that it will not even be done before Rick is done with his program in 2014, but just to know that it will be here for the Saints in this area brings me a lot of joy (but I am still hoping that we will get to experience it with them while we are still here ;)).
*This picture doesn't really have anything to do with this post, I just like it, and who doesn't like a little Goodnight Gorilla every now and then.

I can't believe how big they are getting! You're little family is so stinkin cute! It is so good to see that you guys are doing well.
What cute boys! Look at Owen's teeth! Ellie's are all coming in too. I can't believe they are putting in a temple now that I am gone, but happy for all of you. Miss you guys.
I like Owen's little face! What a cutie!
It is so great that you will have a temple. I love these pictures of your cute boys. Like you, it makes me really sad when Ruby goes to preschool. I know that she loves it, and it will help with the kindergarten transition, but I don't have another little person around yet.
Skeleton shirts are a must at our house too!
