My parents came back to CT the day the Shamos left NYC! My dad was given an award in DC and they were willing to fly him through Hartford so they made a weekend out of it. First let me just say that during this visit no manual labor was required of our guests, so there is hope for you future visitors.
Why so much fun in Jan and Feb you ask? Rick was on his anesthesia rotation which was suppose to be two months of bliss (meaning he was home at 2 pm everyday and just didn't go in a couple times)! On the way to pick up my parents at the airport Rick got the call that he was being put back on service two weeks early- starting that weekend. It was a bit disappointing, but at least now he gets those two weeks back in May when it will hopefully be warmer.
My parents came in the day before Valentine's Day so we decorated cookies that night.
On Valentine's Day we made it back to Avery's Beverages where we made our own soda this time.

Apparently making soda makes Wyatt tired.
Then we went and saw Marley and me, and ended the night going out to dinner.
Perhaps Wyatt's favorite part of the trip was horsey rides from Grandpa, it is fun to see Wyatt do this because I remember getting them when I was little.
On President's Day we kept the Cannon family tradition of Bowling followed by lunch at Wendy's alive,
and then threw Rick a surprise birthday party that night, since my parents wouldn't be here for the big day later this week. I don't know why I didn't take pictures, but you can see some on my parent's blog. Rick was genuinely surprised.
Tuesday my parents had to fly to DC, but we made a quick trip to the State Capitol Building before their flight.
It was a great trip, we LOVE having visitors!

Wow Janae you have been busy with your blog the last couple of day! It looks like you had lots of fun with Mom and Dad. And your kitchen looks great. It was nice to see a close up of your island area from the cookie picture! Lots of work but well worth it. Your kitchen is beautiful!!!
We had a wonderful time being with you and your family. We miss having our children closer to home.
Who would have known so many people would want to visit CT??? :D You guys are sure loved! Our goal is to come before Rick finishes!
I'm glad that you're having such a great time and getting a lot of help with your house! I can't believe how grown-up Wyatt looks.
It was a great trip.
So mom sent me a copy of you sugar cookie recipe and I made them for my scouts on Tuesday. You were 100% right when you said they were the best sugar cookies ever...SO SOFT!! Brandon told me I needed to thank you for the recipe...he REALLY liked them!
Looks like you all had fun in CT! Someday we will come to visit...promise!
