The PAR-TAY!!!!

If you know me you know I LOVE birthdays and I LOVE birthday parties! Wyatt requested a tool party and here is what we came up with.

The Invites; made of sand paper, duct tape, and bolted shut.

Waiting patiently for guests to arrive.
The construction zone!
I made friends with the community service manager at our local Home Depot and he gave me all these fire truck kits and aprons for the party. Our unfinished basement was the perfect job site. A big thanks for everyone who helped with the building process.
We built pizzas.

The kids were all so good, the entire time. The control freak in me came out during the pizza making when I was worried about running out of time for everything, but we got right back on schedule.
We played pin the nail on the hammer and measuring tape limbo while the pizzas were cooking.
Lunch Break.
PINATA!

This year I made a construction cone pinata.
You may have noticed all the great pictures from the party, Brooke was our official party photographer. I love this sequence of Wyatt charging his pinata.

We could not have made it through the party without Brooke, who came and helped through the whole thing. One thing that makes living away from family bearable for these events is that I feel that my boys have adopted Aunts and Uncles with the friends we have made both here in CT and at UCLA.

I may have put one too many layers of paper mache on, we had to have Rick take a couple wacks.

Owen was around enjoying the party.
Gifts

Wyatt has been on toy overload, he has really nice friends. He has been sleeping with this flashlight the last two nights.
THE CAKE!
THE GUESTS! (minus two cuties who had to leave early)

Until...
... next year!

This looks like so much fun! I wish I could have come to this party. What a creative idea, Janae! Did Wyatt give demos to his guests on the proper way to use the tools? He is such a cutie. Tell him happy belated birthday from us.
