The living room was not that bad, comparatively. These pictures are all from our front door looking to the right.
I just had to steam and scrape off the wallpaper, patch the ceiling, paint the ceiling, prime the walls because they were original plaster, then paint the walls and trim, and change all the electrical outlets from 2 prong to 3. It is not done (you can see a light switch that needs to be changed if you look close, and Rick is going to install overhead lighting eventually), but at least it is really close and fully functional now.
AFTER:
I am pretty happy with the outcome so far. My only regret is that I think I hung the pictures too high, but I am not in the mood to move them down, plaster the holes, and repaint them. I am trying to think of what to put over the fireplace still, Rick thinks a big flat screen TV is the way to go, but that is not really an option. We are decorated for Fall/Thanksgiving in this room so it makes me feel like it is actually becoming a home instead of a construction zone.
More catch up posts and Wyatt's room to come tomorrow.

WoW! I am super imprest Janae! I thought Rick was a Mr. Fix It! But you got skills girl! Love your little boy- so cute!
Amazing! It looks so good!! Way to go! I'm excited to see more pictures so hurry!!
The carpet in your living room looks great. It really goes in the room. I am happy to see it on the floor unrolled instead of the the corner rolled up. I loved seeing your home. You and Rick have put a lot of work into it.
Your house looks great.
House looks like it coming along nicely. But we all knew that Rick would have his hand dirty asap after the papers were signed. I ran into Skillet (Matt Millet) in Az. I had no idea he lives down here.
Janae I love the room. I like the new furniture for the TV and rug. They look great. Be very glad you have such a handy hubby who can fix it all!
The living room looks great. I, too, am super excited to see more pictures.
It looks awesome Janae! And I can totally relate to removing the blasted wallpaper. It is pure torture! We just finished with wallpaper removal last week and are painting this week. I see your room and think, okay, this will all be worth it. Great work!
That is a ton of work! You are forgiven for your blogging absence :) Just teasing :) But we do want to see some more pictures of Wyatt and the house and you! So keep 'em coming :)
It looks amazing. You guys did such a good job with the living room and Wyatt's room too. I love fall too. It's a season that I've really missed after living in CA for 6 years.
If Rick doesn't get his TV above the fireplace, I would definitly go with that sweet sailboat picture that was above the couch!
Congrats on your house. looks awesome!
I Love your rug! It is amazing how much your floor pops since you painted. It is the same in Wyatt's Room too.
