6 Years!!

Today is our 6 year wedding anniversary! As I was thinking about today I was trying to remember how we have spent all of our wedding anniversaries.

1 Year: We were living in Stockton, CA while Rick was selling pest control for the third and final summer and I was working as a temp in the collections department of the Bank of Stockton, and at a dry wall tool company (Blue Line Dry Wall Tools to be exact) before our last year at the Y. For the actual day we drove out to the Oakland temple. (This picture is of us cutting the frozen top of our wedding cake, what you are suppose to do at 1 year, but we did it on our 6 month anniversary-which happens to be Valentine's Day- to make room in my parents freezer.)

2 Year: We were living in Rick's parents basement for the summer waiting for dental school to start. We were both working together at an environmental clean up site in Boulder City in full HAZMAT gear in the summer heat. The actual day was spent on the lake and at the Las Vegas temple.

3 Year: We were in LA. I was teaching summer school at University High School, dental school was in full swing for Rick. The actual day was on a Sunday, I remember this because Rick came through with a great gift, a dress that I still love. We celebrated by going to the incredibly romantic Medieval Times dinner and horse show in Anaheim. This anniversary also stands out to me because it was the day we took our home pregnancy test and found out we were going to have Wyatt.

4 Year: Still in LA, now I was staying at home full time with 4 month old Wyatt. I am a terrible person because for the life of me I cannot remember how we celebrated the actual day, I am 90% sure we went to the Los Angeles Temple, but I don't know there was no blog to document it.

5 Year: In LA, in the last year of dental school. This one did make the blog so if you have a great desire you can refresh your memory. We went to the dinner (I had this gorgonzala steak pasta dish that I still think about sometimes) and the Tim McGraw and Faith Hill concert.

6 Year: So now here we are in our short term apartment in CT waiting to move into our first house. Rick is in his program and he have reached the half way point in his schooling; 6 years down 6 more to go. As for the actual day, Rick had to round early this morning and has a meeting tonight so it will be a late night for him most likely. Wyatt and I spent the morning at an orchard picking apples and peaches to hopefully make some kind of treat tonight for Rick.

Thanks for putting up with my walk down memory lane. I figure I better document them all before they all become like our 4 year anniversary-maybe it will still come back to me. I guess the most important thing is that every year we have been really happy together and we are still in love.

Wow 6 years already! I remember the first time Rick brought you back to the house we were living in. We didn't know what to think when we found out that you two fell in love in the Chem Lab as TA's :) But you proved us all wrong Janae, you are the best thing that ever happened to Rick! Besides him being a water ski model for the BYU bookstore!)Miss you guys!
