The best part of having the tree up

So I'll admit it. My tree has been up since the week before Thanksgiving. I wanted to have it up when we came home and we left so early I couldn't wait. We didn't turn on the lights until after Thanksgiving though so that makes it okay right? Wyatt has been really good with the tree and after trying to eat our ornaments (dried fruit) once he has pretty much left them alone. The best part of my day is when Rick comes home from school. Wyatt grabs Rick's hand and leads him to the tree. They then climb under and stay there pointing out the lights while Rick informs Wyatt about all the workings of Christmas from Reindeer to Santa Claus. They can stay under there forever, I normally have to drag them out for dinner. It is the sweetest thing ever! It makes me want to leave the tree up all year! I love my boys!

Janae what wonderful moments to capture as you enjoy Wyatt growing up. These are the moments you will always remember. You have so much to be thankful for.

Aren't the holidays more fun with children around? As much as we are trying to teach our girls the true meaning of christmas, this whole santa bit is pretty fun for them!

I remember doing that same thing when I was a kid. I can't recall if Rick did it with us, but the Shamo girls always liked to lay (lie?) under the tree- we even would sleep there some times in the days leading up until Christmas- there's something so magical about those lights. It's great you're recording these moments.

This is just toooo cute!! Who doesn't love the lights at Christmas?! Even my late dog Missy used to lay under the Christmas tree. I think it was to get warm by the lights. That's back in the day when I used to put about 1500 lights on my tree. The pre-lit trees don't come with that many lights. (Sigh) Merry Christmas and it was great seeing you at Thanksgiving.
